II Cor. 3:2
I have fed you with milk, and not with meat: for hitherto ye were not able to bear it, neither yet now are ye able.
In this passage, the Apostle Paul is reminding us there is a spiritual growth process for believers. The faith we hold is not an instant one. Despite our prevalence towards instant gratification, faith is not among this.
Oh, how we love our instant coffee, breakfast, and microwave popcorn. Yet, we need to understand our faith is not a quick growth one.
God does everything in His own time. We need to understand God’s time is not our time. We need time to be able to bear the blessings God desires to bestow upon us. The babe cannot handle filet mignon.
They must prepare their systems for this delicacy. They must have a pablum time and evolve to filet mignon. Our spiritual growth is just like that.
We need to be prepared for the blessings of God. Yet, my beloved never doubt that God desires to bless us,. John 10:10 tells us I am come that they might have life and that they might have it more abundantly.
The word is patience. As hard as that may be, it is only by patience that we grow into the holiness of God. Have patience, my beloved. For that is the vehicle to the glory of God.
Remember God will never place more on you than you can bear.
