People truly do not understand Depression. They tell you nonsense like “Get over it,” If only we could!!! The demons tell us “we are nothing, never have been, never will be. Just give up and die”. It does not matter what we have accomplished or what we can accomplish. I have two Master degrees, one Doctorate and working on another one, I passed the Law Bars in two different states, I passed the exam as a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, I served military families and helped them with their grief. Yet, the demons had me convinced, “I was nothing and I tried to take the ultimate act more than once”.I moved to Puerto Rico because in order to get better you cannot be around miserable people or dysfunctional people. You need positivity, love, and caring when you feel as we do.
I told my Therapist, on Saturday, she is a source of frustration. She is so beautiful. There are so many beautiful ladies in Puerto Rico, why can’t I have just one? Moving is not a cure!!!
So Senator Fetterman, I understand. I support you and I admire your courage. You are a survivor and that makes you a hero. Please share your experience. There are others that need to hear it.
Unfortunately, there is no cure for my BiPolar Disorder. I will never get well. But reading about people like Senator Fetterman gives me encouragement. You took the system on and won!! That’s the name of the game.
